Where to Eat

What to eat
The British Virgin Islands cuisine includes European and American dishes, apart from the typical Caribbean creations, like the fungi (corn flour pudding) or the roti (thick curry wrap up on a chapati). Chefs have excellent ingredients: fresh seafood, and the abundant diversity of tropical fruits and vegetables growing on these islands.

Cocktails, as appetizers, are a temptation hard to resist.

List of Restaurants
Try to get an issue of BVI Restaurant Guide (with map), a free yearly publication, available at hotels and tourist information offices. Its an excellent up to date guide, where you’ll find restaurants addresses, most important dishes, schedules, prices, accepted credit cards, reservations, etiquette codes, etc.

Another good information source is the Welcome magazine and its section “Dining Out”, as well as the restaurant’s advertising.

The hotel  restaurants are open to the general public. It’s recommended to make reservations, specially during high season. Restaurants of the All Pusser’s chain (Waterfront Drive, Road Town; Soper’s Hole, West End; Marina Cay and Leverick Bay, Fat Virgin) have fine sauces, delicious morsels, and delicious meat filets and fishes. Recommended to try the famous painkiller.
