By Bus
There are no public buses in St. John (most used ways of transport are cabs, jeeps or walking). However at St. Thomas and St. Croix there are regular lines of busses; look for the Vitran company stops. In St. Croix there are busses leaving every half hour from Christiansted to Fredriksted.

By Car
You’ll soon notice that in the US Virgin Islands driving is on the left side, British style, though most of cars are American with the steering wheel to the right.

At St. Thomas and St. Croix you’ll find car rental agencies at the airports. At St. John, you can rent a car in Cruz Bay.

By Taxi
If you’re arriving by plane, cruiser or ferry, you’ll immediately find taxis to take you to the hotel or wherever you wish. The Taxi Association has a detailed price list according to destinations, but you better set the price with the driver previously.

If you want to go in a one-day tour to St. John, better use a convertible. Some of the taxi companies are:

Connections Between Islands
St. Thomas and St. Croix have airports. The Virgin Islands Seaplane airline (phone no. 777 4491) has flights between the different US Virgin Islands. There is also a regular service of ferries from St. Thomas (Charlotte Amalie), to St. John, Tortola and Fat Virgin. There is no regular ferry to St. Croix.

The local airlines connect these islands with other neighbors, like the British Virgin Islands, Anguilla and St. Martin. These are some of the airlines:
