Chamomile trees: the trunk of these trees usually is painted with red stripes, as a warning. It’s fruits, which look like an apple, and its resin contain a poison substance (Amerindians used it to poisoned their arrows) and when it rains it segregates an irritate substance that burns skin (for this reason you should never stand under these trees if it rains). Thus, don’t touch their leaves.
Sea hedgehog: if you are swimming over rocks, be careful where you place your feet –standing on one of those can be a painful experience- because you can get a thorn in your foot.
Sea louse: no matter how tired you are, don’t lie on any buoy or object covered with green sea weed, because it has lice that that can cause a allergic reaction very painful and produce unbearable itching.
Snakes: the only poison snake that lives in the Little Antilles is the lance de fer, who lives in the arid shrubs and in the valleys of St. Lucia and Martinique. If a snake bites you go urgently to the hospital, though it isn’t deadly.
