Outdoor Activities

Water sports
There are many beaches for practicing snorkeling. Near the shores of Shoal Bay East are excellent reefs for fans. Other places are Scilly Cay (you have to go by ferry from Island Harbor), Crocus Bay and Little Bay. Some agencies organizing snorkeling are:

Hoo Haa Charters
Island Harbor or Sandy Ground
Phone no. 497 4040

Rollins Ruan

A day tour on board of Chocolate, food included. They also rent boats with crystal transparent floors, for two people.

Horse Riding Tours
For these tours, or training, contact:

El Rancho Del Blues

Fishing
Those wanting to enjoy a fishing day on one of Anguilla’s traditional boats may contact rental agencies, or deal directly with local fishermen. Another possibility is to go on a fishing ship, on a day tour, to some of the diminutive islands in front of Anguilla, like Sombrero, with a lighthouse open to public.

Contact:

Neville Connor

(for sport fishing)

Sandy Island Enterprises

Submarines
Waters around the island are ideal for submarines, with a well-preserved ocean bed, where rests of many wrecked ships lie. The best places for immersions is the island of Sandy, Prickly Pear Cays and Little Bay. Your hotel will, probably, organize these tours.

If not, you can also contact:

Anguillian Divers
Iland Harbor
Phone no. 497 4750

The Dive Shop
Sandy Ground

Tennis
Hotels like the Cinnamon Reef, the Carimar Beach Club and the Rendezvous Bay, have tennis courts you can rent, no matter if you aren’t a guest.

Boat races in Anguilla
Wooden boat races are very popular in Anguilla, and in fact are the national sport. Almost all national holidays, boat races are staged. Anguilla is also famous for constructing beautiful wooden boats, used for fishing and racing.
